Find a Japanese garden, native plants and a quieter side of South Beach without an admission bill.
The plan
The Miami Beach Botanical Garden is a compact change of scene near the Convention Center. Take an unhurried loop through different planted spaces rather than trying to treat it like a large attraction. The Japanese garden’s red bridge and pond, native plant areas and orchids give the walk several different textures. It is a useful low-cost companion to the nearby Holocaust Memorial or an afternoon in the Convention Center neighborhood, with each place deserving its own pace.
Entry and parking
General entry is free, Tuesday through Sunday 9am–5pm. The main entrance is on 19th Street and Convention Center Drive, with bicycle racks nearby. Visitors using the Convention Center garage can ask at the Botanical Boutique about the garden’s $2-per-hour parking validation.
Choose your kind of visit
Ordinary admission does not include every class, tour or special event. Check the separate booking information if you want an organized activity. Paths link the different gardens, making a short visit possible without a lengthy itinerary.
Before you go
Arrive with time to enjoy the planting before the 5pm closing; do not assume evening event hours apply to ordinary garden visits.
