Dance NOW! opens its 27th season with a Sunday performance at the Bandshell.
The plan
Dance NOW! opens its 27th season with a Sunday performance at the Bandshell. The program introduces the company’s season and includes excerpts from Clara, its playful take on The Nutcracker, alongside a Youth Ensemble presentation. Choose this for a live dance outing rather than expecting a full-length traditional Nutcracker production; the appeal is seeing several parts of the company’s work in one evening.
Before you go
The performance starts at 7pm, with doors at 6pm. The venue lists all ages. Buy through the organizer’s linked seller and check the total before payment; admission and seating options can differ from other Bandshell programs.
Getting there & the venue
The Bandshell is an open-air venue under a canopy, so dress for the evening rather than for an air-conditioned theater. Its municipal lot is across Collins Avenue at 73rd Street and costs $2 an hour. Outside food and drinks are not allowed; there is a water refill station inside. Allow extra time for parking and ticket scanning, especially if you want to be settled before the opening performance.
Before you go
Use the early doors to get everyone settled, particularly if this is a first dance performance for a younger guest.
