Playgrounds, a running track and a neighborhood rhythm a few streets away from the beach.
The plan
Flamingo Park is the practical choice when everyone wants a different kind of outdoor break. Children can use the playground, runners have a track and the park has space to make an ordinary afternoon feel less scheduled. This is an active neighborhood recreation complex, so expect sports and local routines rather than a manicured attraction. Keep the free park visit separate from aquatic-center admission, organized programs and any facility reservation you might want to add.
Useful facilities
The playground serves toddlers and children ages 5–12 and includes an old-fashioned train feature. The city lists a running track open 6:15am–9pm and basketball courts 7am–10pm. Four dedicated pickleball courts are free, first-come, first-served, with no reservations, 8am–10pm.
Plan the right visit
General park hours are sunrise–sunset. Sports facilities have their own schedules; the pool has separate opening and admission rules. Bring the equipment needed for the activity you choose and leave room for courts to be occupied.
Before you go
For a simple family outing, start with the playground rather than promising children access to a pool session you have not checked.
