Natural-dye educator Veronica Buitron introduces an indigo vat and Shibori resist techniques for plant-based fibers.
The plan
Natural-dye educator Veronica Buitron introduces an indigo vat and Shibori resist techniques for plant-based fibers. The five-hour workshop combines demonstrations and experimentation with folding, wrapping, clamping and stitching to produce textile patterns. Participants take home sample cards, a vat recipe and their own cotton bandana. With only eight places, it offers sustained attention to one process rather than a brief demonstration. All skill levels are welcome and supplies are included. Aprons are provided, but wear clothes that can tolerate a stain so the making remains relaxed.
