Shaded play spaces and a big field for a family afternoon away from the oceanfront.
The plan
Muss Park is a neighborhood-scale alternative to the more crowded beach parks. Its play areas are separated by age, with walkways around a large playing field, making it easier to match the visit to the children you are bringing. Come for an ordinary free park outing rather than assuming access to the after-school program or an enclosed pavilion booking. The complex earned LEED Silver certification in 2020 and brings together recreation space and practical family facilities.
Playground details
The city lists shaded equipment for ages 2–5 and 5–12, rubber surfacing, slides, climbing elements, ramps, play panels and a group disc swing. The accessible layout includes pathways and playground access. Bring water and snacks, and let age ranges guide which equipment children use.
Hours and facilities
Public park hours are daily sunrise–sunset; organized programming has separate hours and enrollment. Restrooms sit beside the facility, with water fountains, seating and on-site parking spaces. Pavilion rentals cost extra and do not mean the entire public park closes.
Before you go
Choose this for a play-focused outing; the waterway setting is a reason to supervise children closely, not a swimming invitation.
