Music, contemporary dance and silent film meet in a Fellow-led New World Symphony BLUE project.
The plan
Music in Motion combines live music, contemporary dance and film in a Fellow-led New World Symphony BLUE project. Dancers from New York and San Francisco join the musicians in a program exploring feminine power and artistic expression. Lotte Reiniger’s silent Cinderella appears with a score by Karim Al-Zand, while other works bring different instrumental textures and influences into the evening. Choose this for a Friday outing that moves across art forms rather than a conventional orchestra-only concert.
Time, venue & content note
The performance is Friday, November 6 at 7:30pm in New World Center’s Michael Tilson Thomas Performance Hall. The organizer advises audience discretion because one programmatic work depicts the Antebellum South. Check the official ticket options for current prices and availability.
Plan the evening
Allow time to find the hall and settle before the performance. Save the dated ticket and official program on your phone, and confirm the meeting point if your group is arriving separately. This is an indoor performance; it is not an announcement of a free outdoor WALLCAST.
Before you go
Read the program note before bringing a younger guest or someone who would prefer to avoid the announced historical subject matter.
