A walking path, creek-side space and a low-key alternative to the oceanfront.
The plan
Pine Tree Park is a good choice when the outing is simply to walk, talk and spend a little time outside. Its asphalt path, leisure areas and community-garden setting make a change from the Beachwalk. The park also has separate dog areas and a kayak launch onto Indian Creek, but neither is required to enjoy a short land-based visit. Treat this as a neighborhood green space, with other visitors using it for different everyday routines.
If bringing a dog or kayak
Two double-gated runs separate small and large dogs. The kayak launch is free for personal craft, which must be carried or brought by a mobile cart; there is no drive-up launching or parking at the launch itself. PADL rentals are a separate paid service.
Ordinary park visit
Open sunrise–sunset daily, with accessible areas, a water fountain and on-site parking spaces. Bring water and use posted guidance for activities near the creek. Launch access does not make a paddling trip suitable for every weather condition or experience level.
Before you go
You can keep the whole plan on land. A slow loop and a seat are enough to make this a worthwhile neighborhood stop.
