Soul Samba brings a Brazilian roda to North Beach: seven musicians gather around a table rather than separating the band from its social setting.
The plan
Soul Samba brings a Brazilian roda to North Beach: seven musicians gather around a table rather than separating the band from its social setting. Marcello Bentine opens the evening. This is a strong choice for friends who want live rhythm and a night that feels rooted in a particular musical tradition, with room to listen before deciding how much dancing to do.
Before you go
Doors open at 7pm for the 8pm show. Miami Beach residents qualify for free entry with identification; use the official reservation or ticket route before arriving. Other visitors should check the live ticket price rather than assume the resident offer applies to everyone.
Getting there & the venue
The Bandshell is an open-air venue under a canopy, so dress for the evening rather than for an air-conditioned theater. Its municipal lot is across Collins Avenue at 73rd Street and costs $2 an hour. Outside food and drinks are not allowed; there is a water refill station inside. Allow extra time for parking and ticket scanning, especially if you want to be settled before the opening performance.
Before you go
Bring the residency ID, not simply a Miami mailing address, if you plan to use the local offer.
