A waterfront walk at the southern tip of Miami Beach, with room for a playground detour.
The plan
South Pointe is a satisfying end to a South of Fifth wander. Follow the waterfront, watch the movement on the channel and leave time simply to sit rather than racing from one viewpoint to the next. The park combines a scenic setting with practical family facilities, so it works for a short walk or a longer outdoor break. This listing is for the public park; restaurants, parking and commercial activities in the surrounding neighborhood are separate choices.
Useful on-site details
The city lists accessible paths, seating, beach access, a water fountain and public restrooms near the concession. There is outdoor fitness equipment behind the playground building. Play areas cater to ages 2–5 and 5–12, with slides, climbing elements, toddler swings and a splash spray zone.
When to visit
The official park directory lists sunrise–sunset opening every day. Choose daylight hours and allow time for the return walk. Shade and weather vary across the waterfront, so bring water and sun protection, especially with children.
Before you go
Use 1 Washington Avenue as your arrival point, then set a clear meeting place before everyone wanders toward the water.
