A slower architectural and garden visit, with the water and the historic rooms sharing the spotlight.
The plan
Plan a visit that gives the historic house and the formal gardens their own time. Vizcaya’s bayfront setting, architectural details and outdoor spaces make a different kind of museum afternoon from a conventional gallery. Museum entry is paid and separate from the free Sunday farmers market across South Miami Avenue. The regular published schedule is 9:30am–4:30pm, with Tuesday closure; check any date-specific restrictions before buying.
Choose the estate ticket
The paid museum visit is the option for the Main House and formal gardens on the east side of South Miami Avenue. The Sunday farmers market takes place across the road at Vizcaya Village and does not provide access to these museum spaces. Treat them as different admissions.
Build in outdoor time
Regular opening is 9:30am–4:30pm every day except Tuesday. Allow time for the gardens as well as the rooms, and check the museum’s visitor guidance for the day you select. If combining museum and market, plan the crossing and reserve the museum separately rather than expecting a single market booking to cover both.
Before you go
Choose the museum ticket when you want the house and formal gardens; a farmers-market reservation does not include those spaces.
